Given your penchant for vulgarity and your percieved need for the use of it to get your point across, it comes as no surprise to me that you are a Trump supporter.
I'm not sure why you felt the need to give me a cheap shot. I lumped Trump in with the governors, if you read what I wrote. I only included him because he's not a senator or congressman.
No, I'm not supporting Trump, but I at least give him credit for a having a real job outside of Congress and the Senate. The governors like Christie, Kasich, and Bush at least have had to run things where they had more direct accountability.
I'm sorry my less than stellar writing and use of "vulgarity" offends your clearly prudish sensibilities. Nothing more annoying than a prude.
Live on the gulf coast of Florida(former NYer)...you can't believe the anti NY sentiment here...so not sure if Cruz's stupid mouth will actually hurt himelsewhere...can't get past his resemblance to Grandpa Munster...
The gulf coast of FL is notoriously mid-western conservative and judgmental (I've lived there), so that is to be expected. NY is a top destination to visit in the US. Tampa--not so much (c'mon it's got Bush Gardens and that's it). Politically, Naples to Tampa Bay goes with North Florida and the panhandle. Seriously doubt Cruz could make any headway in Fla--whether he is bashing NY or not.
NYC values? New York City has an incredibly diverse population with varying political viewpoints. The majority of the population does typically vote Democrat but this does not mean that all New York City residents are liberal. If he had any potential supporters in NYC then he pretty much just killed his chances with that comment and sent the supporters he had scurrying over to Trump. People from anywhere in the world can come to NYC and be accepted, the residents are generally accepting of differing opinions, and there are very few hate crimes committed. Gee, Ted...seems like those liberal NYC values aren't such a horrible thing after all now, are they?
Not all of NY is like NYC. A few of the larger cities are mostly blue but most of the rest of the state is moderate to conservative. I am from an area where my liberal beliefs are considered very unusual.
The photo of Lady Liberty giving the middle finger, shows Cruz was right! Dont use the Statue in such a crass way, even if you are mad at what he said.
Cruz wasnt ready to handle that question. But he was right..... NO ONE questions the courage and characterof New Yorkers in hard times. Everyone pulled for them when 911 happened!
But "values" fall in another category! Look at who they elected twice as Mayor...Bloomberg!! And then that wasnt enough.....they elected cop-hating DeBlazio!!! A socialist??? Anti-police, pro-choice, pro-gay marriage....... Yes, they have a different set of values than the rest of the fly-over states!
Look at who they elect to Senate seats.....look at how they supported Obama. Yes.....their values are different.
Folks always pull the 911 card as a trump....(pun in intended) But your values and your character under fire are different.
One of my friends is a lifelong New Yorker. And she agrees with Ted Cruz!
If you're a staunch social conservative you knew what Cruz was talking about. Trump dealt a low blow and that's all the media kept repeating ad naseum replacing reason and context for pure emotional drivel.

The same holds true for Pennsylvania.
The larger cities, not only Pittsburgh and Philadelphia but Allentown, Erie, Scranton, Bethlehem, Harrisburg and Wilkes-Barre tend to vote Democrat; but the majority of the rural areas and small towns tend to be more conservative and vote Republican. Of course there are conservatives in Philly and The 'Burgh, they are just outnumbered ... just as there are liberals in Towanda, Altoona, Minersville and Intercourse who are outnumbered. Remember Rick "Frothy" Santorum was allegedly from PA.
And the Republican hate for America's great cities continues... they truly hate America. Great political move there Teddy...insult one of the greatest cities on Earth that this country should be beyond grateful to call its own.
Sorry but I am definitely going to disagree with you. Hey people hate my State, I can hate where they are from since I have visited all but 3 States, which I at some point plan to visit. Alaska being one of them.
Now you feel N.Y. is a great city, people have the right to disagree with you, and believe what they do as to what there favorite city is. And stop the B.S. I have democrat friends who also hate N.Y. it is an individual right to their own opinion, always how I feel,
Do not have to agree with my thought, but I definitely do not have to agree with anyone else also.
Problem is when someone like you now put all Republican's down and this is what my gripe is.
Behind closed doors, Dems make there feelings known believe me I have tons as friends, and they do not all believe the same. In fact what do you think of this, I have dem friends born in N.Y. moved out here when they were little, and the Parents hated N.Y. and the children still live out here, the Mom past away last April. Born and bred in N.Y. and they hated it, moved here when the kids were very young. And loved it out here much better from climate to housing etc.

People can certainly have their own opinions, regardless of party...it's just interesting when you see a huge portion of people in a particular political ideology revel at the thought of America's big cities suffering. They love talking about building a wall around places like NYC, Chicago, Philly, SF, LA, etc. Just take a cruise around this forum. It's not everyone on the Right of course, but a huge portion of them want nothing more than America's big cities to fail.
As far as your anecdotes, I didn't read them.
