Seems to me both teams like adding pork to the defense budget. Quite a few gems were in on forcing the army to buy tanks it didn't want or need.
Whose idea was it to spend 5 million bucks to figure out why lesbians are obese and gay men are fit?
Pelosi wanted the airfare to buy a fleet of private jets to made available to fly congress people around on the tax payers dime.
Flying sorties to attack ISIS only to bring back 75% of them without firing a shot.
No the demo don't get a free pass. Both parties love spending tax dollars.

The military is the most wasteful agency our government has. Every nation's military is just the same.

It's merely bad in peacetime. In war, the waste is staggeringly high.

One thing about defense spending is it is actually corporate welfare. I work for a corporation that makes much of its revenue through government defense contracts. It is only one of many who rely on this spending, usually providing things that are not even needed, or are oversold

None of it is justifiable when it comes right down to it.

This sort of crap has been going on for serious decades.

They have never accounted for expenditures despite that it was necessary for Congress to pass a law requiring them to do so. This is not partisan.
To be fair the gas station was built in Afghanistan and the comparison was Pakistan cost wise. Gotta be a huge cost of living increase when you cross over the border into Afghanistan right? Their Federal Reserve is a monster compared to ours.

Agreed.
That said we can't blame 1 party for the sins of both. The defense budget is fat with pork added by reps you come from both parties. It's the 1 bill almost guaranteed to never be vetoed.
