From an E-mail exchange, between the Oregon Governor and Valarie Jarrett, the Presidents advisor.

Quote:
""We cannot let people we do not like and they, not liking us, run around armed. We have got to set an example, or this could get out of hand. Look what happened down at the Bundy Ranch. Once it warms up, more people will come. - Valarie Jarrett ""

Yes, we've covered this. FBI's HRT fired twice, didn't hit anyone, and tried to cover it up. Investigations are underway, careers will end.

It does not, as much as anyone might wish it, add a one iota of legality to the Bundyites' actions.

PS, the feds are not restricted to owning only bases.

Unless they amended the Constitution, They are to own Washington DC. Naval ports and military installations. There is no other provision we the people gave them authority to "own"
It is outlined in the Constitution, what "real property" the US Government is allowed to "own" or occupy

Sounds like good advice. Setting a precedence that sufficient firepower grants you criminal immunity is bad.

The government already knows this and uses it well..... Welcome to the Police State, of America.....

Did this man that died, after being oppressed by government:

Kill anyone, or suspected, or accused of such?
Steal from anyone, or suspected, or accused of such?
Threaten to kill or harm anyone, with proof of such, or just being accused of such?
Transporting or himself, have a warrant for their arrest, issued by a judge at the time of altercation with oppression by other organized men with intent of harm, in an ambush?

The right to protest, means no government can force you to leave.
Your civil rights are not granted to you by government.
Not even when demanded that you leave.

Protesting private property has it's limits with trespass, but public property is free to have at it, as long as no harm or destruction of the surrounding private property takes place...

Business goes on as usual, until someone is harmed......
As seen over and over with our own government.......
When the talking isn't getting the results you desire, there is bloodshed.

Checks & Balances? What checks & balances?

Sure is.

The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State
The Supreme Court ruling you're looking for is probably Light v. United States - 1911.

Much of that property was owned by the federal government before the individual states were formed. The Nevada constitution states that all undistributed public lands would be retained by the federal government and could never be taxed by the state.

Ever since the Whiskey Rebellion, in fact.

Sounds like Sovereign Citizen gobbledygook.

Finicum died because he reached for weapon while confronting armed police officers. Sad, bur perfectly preventable.
