Is that not a rifle in his lap? What possible need would Mr. Finicum have had for his rifle during this protest, defending himself against thugs and hoodrats, or perhaps preventing the law enforcement officers he so respected from carrying out their sworn duties? ?
Defending his snacks. The newcomers should have brought heir own.
Now why should the cost be paid with federal or state funds, why not just bill the protestors.
"The occupation at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge cost the community more than $1.4 million so far, according to Oregon senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley. Expenses included setting up and running a joint command center and shutting down county offices and schools. Harney County Judge Steve Grasty said he plans to send protesters a bill once the situation is over and he knows the final tally. Senators Merkley and Wyden said they are trying to secure federal and state funds to help cover the costs."
It has been pointed out, over and over, they were not charged with terrorism.
Burn an acre of federal land to stop a wild fire & save your home = arson under special terrorism statute? Do you believe the terrorism law was intended to get people like this? Really? Could it be you just want to celebrate this because of their skin color and political lean? If you support the government using terrorism statutes against these guys, don't come here crying when they start charging environmentalists, anti-corporate protesters, anti-war and social activists with it in the future. I was against this domestic terrorism crap when it was being cooked up on this very basis. It's the ultimate slipper slope.
It looks like it's getting heated between the two sides. I hope cooler heads prevail.
The comments on the livestream are ridiculous.
