People are still trying to rationalize for these militia idiots?
I think we are all being trolled. Is the earth still flat, too?
Well, there was a high profile case of celebrities promoting that very idea just in the last week or two ... not sure if there's any overlap, but we certainly have more than our fair share of loons running around.
Immediately after Finicum was killed, the truck came under fire. No orders were issued to the occupants, and as it was at the first roadblock, firing bullets at the occupants of the truck was the first order of the day.
Cox believes that the vehicle was struck at least one hundred times. Both women were hysterically screaming to “please stop shooting” as the two women were begging for their lives.
So were they in some kind of magic, bullet repelling car? The vehicle was struck "at least one hundred times" but magically, no one in the car was hit or injured in any way? One hundred bullets and not a single one managed to penetrate the car to hit anyone inside? And you take this ridiculous claim as gospel without question?
Fallen enemy combatants are not owed the same consideration as criminal suspects.
Thus Finicum’s mortal remains were left sprawled on the frozen ground.
The indictment covers the eleven people already arrested and "others". They will partially unseal it in a couple of days, but my guess is that they will hold back on some of it until more arrests are made. At peak there were 30-40 people involved, and it's anybody's guess as to whether any of those who sent supplies and money will be charges with aiding and abetting with material support. This could take a while to see a conclusion.
I think that's one of the reasons they let it go on so long, so they could gather information on all the other screwball groups planning things. It also gave them time to research in depth just who should be charged with what and type up all the charges nice and neat. I still wonder which one of them was an informant. I'd bet dollars to doughnut holes that at least one of the militants was an FBI agent who embedded himself during or shortly after the Bundy Ranch fiasco, and spent his days in the refuge sucking up info and sending it along to HQ.
Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer has introduce a bill that would force Ammond Bundy and his merry band of pretend patriots to pay for the cost of their occupation. The Congressman estimates the takeover is costing $100,000 a week.
He also believes some of the responsibility for how long this has dragged has to be placed on the federal government. He wants the federal government to pick up the tab so the state and local governments aren't on the hook for it, and then have the feds go after Bundy & Company for reimbursement.

Can't help but think that when this whole thing ends, Fry and Anderson et al will be mightily disappointed at how little news and social media cared about their story.
If it had been city or state property, they would have used tear gas and a swat team. It would have been over quick.
The feds need to be very careful because of the right wing paranoia and the "Tyranny", very true that local LE is viewed quite differently. Looking back on the Cliven Bundy standoff the local police were hands off for the most part, some of the congressmen and police chiefs were supportive of the group.
One thing I got out of these events is that the nut quotient is quite different in Utah and Nevada, Oregon is different. I wonder why they picked their fight here and not in their own states.
