That is a fairly dramatic increase over 2014 and 2016 is predicted to be even hotter. Also 5 of the warmest years on record in the last 10 years.

But this new record may not stand for long, as one of the strongest El Niños ever measured combines with the continued warming of the planet to potentially push 2016 to yet another record.“2015 was remarkable even in the context of the larger, long-term warming trend,” Gavin Schmidt, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, said in a statement."

The only meterorologist that would deny global warming is Anthony Watt, this is science but it's pretty much a waste of time trying to convince those that don't rely on facts.
Anthony Watts isn't a meteorologist. He has no background in science. He doesn't even have a college degree; he had a media certificate that allowed him to announce the weather forecasts on radio/tv. His only claim to 'fame' is running a crank-magnet anti-science conspiracy blog.
Even if we had the hottest year on record, meteorologists out there would still lay claim that global warming is pure bunk. If our government wants to make money off a hoax, then that's their prerogative. But, in any event, nothing will get accomplished and people still won't be convinced.
