I like Yahoo, but they've careened wildly to the left. I use their mail, but all their news is tainted now and even their financial news is suspect. I get they're trying to forge an identity, I assume trying to appeal to millenials, but they're jumping the shark into insignificance.

I had to stop using Yahoo as my home page. The articles they post are so obviously biased in favor of lieberals, it approaches satire.

What's with the partisan crap?

Shareholders want a return on investment.

The current CEO was brought in to turn things around. She placed $ billions on wild bets that did not pay off. Yahoo's primary units are search, mail and Tumblr, a $ billion acquisistion in 2013.

The Yahoo page has trended towards more sensational headlines and click bait oriented material, neither left or right.

Starboard Value is the most outspoken of Yahoo's activist shareholders who have threatened a proxy fight.

The activist shareholders seek to oust management, the board and cut 75% of employees, pending a break up of the company and sale of the independent parts.

The UX is so awful with Yahoo, it functions more like a virus than a website. I'm not even reading their headlines.

I get the failure of Yahoo's business model, but they've gone full lefty snark when it comes to reporting the news, alienating casual users like me who like their news without the bs. But I really used to like their financial news, now it's suspect which is a shame.
