Christie's 'independent' Bridgegate lawyers now funding his campaign | Editorial | NJ.com

From the article
"Now we learn that 28 lawyers from her firm, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher – which conducted the internal investigation that Christie commissioned into the lane closures – are personally funding Christie's campaign."

As someone from NJ, I'll say that Christie is a snake. When he ran for governor, he said one thing but then did another once he came into office so I do not put this past him. If anyone doesn't know what bridgegate is then you can look it up, I won't rehash it. This link is an opinion piece but I read the news stories about this within the last week or 2. When you read things like this, it's not hard to understand why people are gravitating towards Bernie Sanders. He's right about how corrupt the system is.

Sure.
After the investigation, where they thoroughly examined Mr. Christie, they said "I haven't seen a politician this innocent a long time. Let's finance him."

I have a better chance of being POTUS than Christie.

Seriously, he's such a waste of space on this planet.

It's really irrelevant. Christie was done even before he got started largely because of this. The country has had enough of politicians that go after those that vote for others.

A hungry DOJ was weaponized by the obama to destroy CC back when he was a contender for future prez post 2012.

The DOJ did its best to destroy CC and came up empty. empty, empty.

both investigations came up EMPTY!

So if someone wants to support CC what's the problem?

Harry reid can lie to throw a presidential election with no legal or moral consequence, so why the problem with who supports CC.

The trail lawyers assoc supported Menendez who was under federal investigation for opposing Obama's cuban policy...oops! he was investigated for some other charge not being against Obama's cuban policy.

Wall alum tax cheat was appointed to head the treasury. biden and Obama looked to Corzine for advice. corzine somehow found innocent by the DOJ citing irresponsibile action lost investor money. Corzine now starting a hedge fund and supports Hillary.

Like this is some nefarious Republican Conservative political move. Go turn over another rock OP, what you have here is sleaze-ball lawyers (but I repeat myself) going to the highest bidder.

Yes we know Christie isn't going to win but that's besides the point. I just can't believe how crooked this is. I can almost accept that the lawyers investigated and found him innocent however a little light should be going off in their lawyerly heads how bad it looks for them to donate money to a campaign of someone they only just recently investigated. This wasn't 10 years ago...the ink on the paper wasn't even dry yet.

If Christie were responsible for Bridgegate, that was utterly petty, mean, and inexcusable. But would he have thrown the affluent Republican voters of northwest Bergen and Passaic counties under the GWB to spite the mayor of Fort Lee? That's a scary thought.
