We don't know if the republican amendments would have been effective, we know it has not worked for Medicaid abuses. Once again those numbers you indicated were people without proper documentation, not entirely illegal immigrants. Also once again I don't believe the cost includes the annuities paid in or considers the existing Medicaid costs by illegal immigrants.
Joe Wilson felt the need in the moment to shout "you lie" because he felt that some illegal immigrants would cheat the system and that the GOP amendments were fool proof?
So here we are 5 years later bringing up Joe Wilson, he apologized it's over, time to move on.
You are just excusing Obama's lie, because you support Obama's lies.
What we do know is that factually the Republicans pointed out that there was no verification enforcement mechanism, tried to add one, the Democrats blocked it, and then Obama lied.
If by some illegal immigrants would cheat a system set up to be cheated to the tune of 500,000 getting $750,000,000.00 in Obamacare subsidies, then yes.

Wow.
You can't win the debate as Obama clearly lied...so you play the race card. The best card of those that can't mentally hack it in a debate.
During a 2009 address to a joint session of Congress, President Barack Obama told the country that his plans for health care reform would not extend to people who are in the country illegally.
"You lie!" South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson notoriously shouted. Obama replied, "That's not true."
But only two years after the largest coverage provisions in the Affordable Care Act took effect, the country's most populous state has passed a bill that, in fact, seeks to extend Obamacare to people regardless of their immigration status.
How many lies did Obama tell to sell us on Obamacare?
-He lied about how his mother died to score political points
-He lied about you can keep your doctor
-He lied about you can keep your plan
-He lied about saving $2,500
-He lied about being opposed to penalties
-He lied about it not being a tax, as his administration argued it was in front of the Supreme Court
-He lied about being opposed to no-bid contracts above $25K, as he gave one for millions to a Canadian company for the Obamacare website
-He almost certainly lied when he first said he was unaware of Obamacare website problems, unless he is that detatched from his own job
-He lied about illegal immigrants not being able to get subsidies
Obama is an anti-intellectual, unable to defend policies without pathologically lying.
Does this country not need more Joe Wilson's to tell liars that they are lying? Isn't that a good thing and not something the media should demonize?
Imagine how good Obama could have been and how better this country would be if Obama was honest.
