Moronic thread title. If anyone's making hay out of this, it's Republicans who have already announced that they're going to "delay, delay, delay" any nominations from Obama. It's pitiful. I take some comfort in the fact that Democrats have a huge advantage in the Electoral College.

It should be obvious he is saying "do not consent" to anyone Obama nominates. In other words, even if Pres Obama chooses the best person to serve our country, it doesn't matter. So I now ask you the same question you asked MTAtech. What about this confuses you?
If obama were to chose the best person to serve our country, the nomination would be approved, however obama would only chose the best person to further his own agenda, not the best person to serve the country..
You're talking about obama here, the man who hates America and the constitution, he would never do anything for the betterment of the country.. He never has so far, why would he change now??

Maybe. Since he was one of the most powerful people in the country and I despised him - I feel nothing but joy. Good riddance. If there is a hell - he's burning in it!!! PHTTT

Now, now. No need to try to divert attention from the fact that your original post contains a blatant misstatement of facts.

Most cases taken by the Supreme Court are taken as appeals from a lower court. A 4-4 decision means the decision of the lower court always stands so in those cases we know the answer.

Or are you just being intentionally obtuse.

Clearly the (D's) have played hardball politics with SCOTUS nominees whether you want to admit it or not.

Seriously!

Moments After Scalia's Death Is Confirmed, GOP Senate Staffer Pledges To Block Any Obama Replacement | ThinkProgress

How about R-UT Mike Lee's classy staffer Conn Carroll here? This looks like politicizing the issue to me!

Haven't you figured out that spin is much more important than truth to a conservative mind?

I just pray that Obama doesn't nominate another justice like Thomas. He's too quiet and I can't remember any interesting opinions he has written.
