The same argument applies, since he was confirmed during the election year. A partisan Senate could have said the exact same thing: "The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president,”

The Senate was held by Dems, and they did not come up with such statements, nor did they try to delay the process. They confirmed the appointment.

Oh, please. He wasn't confirmed until 1988. In fact, a Democratic controlled Senate confirmed Kennedy on February 3, 1988.

That guy truly defines the term "partisan hack". What kind of a guy runs to the TV cameras 15 minutes after hearing about Scalias death to make a partisan comment like that? Besides, the comment incredibly stupid, because there was no need to make it. The GOP could have just played by the rules and process the nominees and find excuses to reject them. End result would have been the same. His comment is a gift to the Dems.

Yep. They could have said "The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president”, but they chose to do their duties instead.

At this point the GOP is looking pretty awful. I suppose that is good for Trump, because he is anti-establishment. He said "delay, delay, delay", which is what the GOP should have done (without saying it). The outright refusal to not even consider the candidates is partisan politics at its worst.

The President is the President EVERY DAY until the term is up. These imbeciles think as they have tried to do all along, is act like they control the office of President by their continued aims to disrespect the sitting President. Americans live day by day, just like the rest of the world and Day by Day, President Obama is the President of the United States and he is not going to let a bunch of Antebellum Confederate Ideologist deny him that responsibility nor that right. Nor will they take from him the title of Commander in Chief.

After 7yrs they should have figured that out, but their bigotry and Antebellum ideology is so deeply ingrained they continue by any and every means to try to cling to that "white man rule delusion"...
These people need to die out soon, THEN, America can move on to become a truly unified nation. After 500 yrs these *******s are still up to the same stupidity that insulted humanity for centuries, to support their arrogance, vices and greed, and still these imbeciles have not changed.
That's why the world community hate the idea and concept of Republican, the world knows these are the same mentalities who stomped around the world looking down on others, and still they continue with the madness. Not only did Vietnam as well as Iraq show them, they will not submit to the "white man delusion", and still these clowns in the Republican system don't get it. Under President Obama, only when he was elected did the world community regain trust in America and appreciate the stand of diplomacy.

Thank goodness President Obama was not gullible to fall for Republican led aims to start wars in Egypt and Syria and Ukraine, because left to the Republican Ignorance, we'd be at war in multiple countries, still pushing some delusion of 'white male american Republicans, trying to play world police.

Don't they realize the days of the 1950's and early 1960's is Gone.... they are still trying to contain women, and disrespect minorities, and then turn around and want to try and hoodwink them, to think they mean good, when it is very evident to the women, minorities and the world of nations, that the worst thing they could ever encounter is the Republican ARROGANT ignorance of trying to recreate the past.

President Obama will do exactly what his responsibility is, and that is fill the seat on the Supreme Court, and for republican to think otherwise, only shows how caught in the past they are.

American public showed them two time, they are not going for the crap, when the elected President Obama two times with LANDSLIDE VICTORY, and the billion dollars spent by Republican could not stop it.

Geez, these die hard with their bigoted ideals continue to try and destroy and divide American to fit within their delusions of the past. Change is here and it will continue change under the leadership of President Obama, if by now these denial mentality republicans have not figured it out, that's their problem, because the world will continue to move on and it will not submit to any more republican madness.
Don't think for one minute the world is not watching the clown brigade in their folly pushing their bigoted views in their lusting for nomination. The world community and many American does not want to see a Republican in the Seat of the Presidency !!!!!
