Exactly, and that is what is so strange about the defense people are trying to muster up.

But it's part of the lie of American exceptionalism and Manifest Destiny that makes white people of European descent feel good, so that makes it an acceptable lie.

I don't think OP read the article beyond the first paragraph, if that.
Haha - conservatives never get offended by art. Or by people who simply state their opinions.
Right, maybe the OP has forgotten about the Dixie Chicks, **** Christ, the producers and actors of countless movies and TV shows - I guess Dan Quayle was a Nazi not a conservative Republican when he spouted off about Murphy Brown. More recently conservatives collectively were in need of a fainting couch when companies like JC Penney and Campbell's soup produced ads featuring gay people. If we are only speaking about old art objects in government buildings, it was only a few years ago that John ********, a conservative Republican and Attorney General under W Bush was so offended by some statues that were installed in a DOJ building in the 1930s, that he spent $8,000 for drapes to cover them.

Maybe at things that are actually worth being offended by, like pissing on a crucifix and calling it art.

OH!
WAIT!
IT WAS!
The PC extremists are offended by SO MANY THINGS you'll have to forgive'em for not being able to keep them all straight. Oops... the term "straight" is no longer an acceptable word, and probably qualifies as a micro-aggression.
Well, as long as it's not something silly like invading/occupying countries that do nothing to us at great cost in blood and $$$.
BOTH parties are guilty of the war mongering, so please put your one-sided outrage back in the closet.
Progressivism is bipartisan. We have totalitarians and authoritarians, and to defend one while being selectively blind to the other is completely disingenuous and hypocritical.
