If the Turks invade Syria they will not stop there. They will exterminate the Saudi Royal family and take over the Muslim Holy places. Then they will ask the Israelis to organize the tour groups.

We can make our Defense Industry happy by supplying weapons to both sides.

Won't happen. For those unfamiliar, the military forces in that region, by and large, are fantastically incompetent. Most will flee the battlefield at the mere suggestion of hostilities. We will most likely continue to see more of the status quo. Iran overtly working to destabilize Iraq via direct material support to Shi'a insurgent groups, Syria continuing as a stalemate until Russia decides what she wants to do. Turkey focusing on problems at home (terror attacks, Kurd uprisings). House of Saud continuing to stick their heads in the sand and deny there are any problems.

May they live in interesting times.

I doubt the rest of the world will start WW3 over the antics of these barbarians. After all the world no longer requires Saudi oil.

Turkey is seriously making a mess out of everything in Syria
with their war against the Kurds who the US supports
and the Syrian forces who Russia supports while all the time
supporting ISIS along with Saudi Arabia and Israel who have been covertly
backing ISIS the whole time.
It is obvious that the idea of putting Turkey in NATO while
it had benefits during the Iraq War is no longer advantageous
because the Turks have a grossly inflated concept of their value and ability.
As of right now, the Turkish and Saudi regimes are the greatest threat to world security.
They could be the "Polands" that dragged the UK, and US into WWII.
