these BLM goons are just thugs that use race to commit crimes they were going to commit anyway. i hope they run up against someone that will take them to task and hand them a severe beating before the thugs are hauled off to the hospital ward of the local prison.

I agree with some of the fundamental positions of the BLM movement, to the extent that I believe the police culture in our country has become far too militaristic, too many police officers are nothing but thugs with a badge who view the average law-abiding civilian as suspects to be controlled rather than citizens to be protected from criminals, and that it's a national disgrace that when a police officer murders a civilian in cold blood the only "penalty" he usually receives is nothing but a few weeks' paid vacation. In addition, I am not a patriotic person by any means, do not support the permanent "war on terror", and am revolted by the hero worship of anyone wearing a military uniform.

But. Having said that... even though the worldview of this marine is probably 180 degrees opposed to mine, the fact remains that he chose a path that he felt was honorable, based on a deep commitment to his principles, and in spite of the terrible danger he acted with tremendous courage and dedication. Although I completely disagree with him, I have the utmost respect and admiration for him. And I wish to god he'd put every single one of those scurvy little gutter rats in intensive care.

so then you think it is ok that thugs, instead of protesting and working to change the police culture, are beating up random innocent people just because they can?

Is that a joke, or are you responding to someone else's post? Because I can't figure out how anyone with even minimal reading skills could have gotten that out of what I said.

Sorry. I forgot that some of the people reading this only have short attention spans, so I should have put this sentence in the first part of the post instead of saving it for last -

A Patriot does nor support the permanent "war on terror". A Patriot fights against tyranny even when it's our own government that is the tyrant. Our forefathers didn't fight a revolution to replace British tyranny with our own tyranny.

The problem is BLM isn't looking for less militarization, but rather more of it. Most progressives are actually. Time and time again we've heard them say they don't trust local police, local prosecutors, etc. and what they want is federal troops, federal prosecutors, etc. Essentially all cops and local police forces are racists and the only way for Blacks is to have a bigger, federalized force lord over them. We heard the cheers in the Trayvon Martin case, we heard the cheers in Ferguson Mo. We were told that like in the South during the civil rights movement, the only forces they trusted were federal forces. Now they cheer every time the DOJ is sent in, to the point where many police forces are just skipping their own investigations and ceding all power to the federal government. The same federal government that is reading their emails, facebook posts, is listening to their phone calls, who is providing militarized combat equipment to the police forces, who are charging people using terrorism statutes, etc.
