No that's precisely what I'm not saying. Honestly if you don't get that by now you need to reread what I did actually say.
I'm arguing that the feeling, for want of a better word, does not necessarily originate "from inside the head".
My point is that "not conforming to the gender binary" is also real and not a product of delusion.
If it's not in their heads then where does it stem from? Not conforming is not delusional I agree with that. But that has nothing to do with a feeling, it's seeing that there are inherent contradictions in the gender binary norms. If you don't feel as though you fit that box then it's not a biological urge or a feeling, it's just coming to the realization that it's rigid. I don't get why transgender politics pushes this biological determinism of sorts.
I don't know that it's helpful for trans people either, except that people, often very cruelly, categorically state that trans people are all nut jobs, quite frankly.
And it's important to find some concrete evidence that that is not the case, so that people can stop with their nasty judgments, and realize it's on the same level as accepting a person who perhaps has one green and one blue eye, and is not worthy of ridicule nor the label of perversion.
I understand the need for basing the movement in science in order to achieve rights, sympathy and political exprdiency but in might backfire in the end when critics start to analyze the data. This push for biological determinism will backfire under scrutiny. Especially from people looking to frame the issue as a mental instability thing.

I don't think it's a feeling either. It would appear to be a certainty for most. So I don't think that just comes out of thin air. So if it's not a biological imperative then what is it?
For the language that transgender people use is that they ARE the opposite sex, not that they FEEL like the opposite sex. That goes to something hard wired in one's biology, IMO. And it is just my opinion, because I can't quantify its origin, but that doesn't mean I don't think it exists, and I think it's actually a trait not a flaw.

Only if it is a mental instability thing. If it isn't, then it would shut a lot of people up.
I guess for the same reason goth kids go to school in all black garb and makeup just to get harassed.
Very poor analogy. There aren't hundreds of goth kids being murdered every year for being goth.
The average life span for transgender Brasilians is 30.
