Back in 11/15 the Montana governor said he would offer an unspecified number of Syrian refugees a safe haven , if requested. None have been resettled and no request had been made to resettle.

Three months later some media is reporting a plan to resettle refugees in Montana and the locals in one town are up in arms about it.

Where is that plan?

As an aside, my preference is to put all refugees, from anywhere , on hold until the US resolves the 30 year old illegal immigration situation.
Most likely once President Obama checked out Montana he realized just what wide open spaces meant......so he is moving them to Texas.

Only to someone who has no clue..... can refugees rope horses, buck hat or brand a cow or are they coming for a free life? There are barely any jobs for the people who live there......do you think the Native Americans want them, you know those people with "no seasoning."

That number was my guess since the op didn't state numbers for this enormous influx of Syrian Immigrants, nice to see some facts.

I'm sure they will have more details on yet another useless thread.

It is more than likely that the OP had no facts to back up another ridiculous thread other wise you and other would have posted some facts, anything?

Facts from the article: Two nonprofits – Soft Landing Montana and WorldMontana – plan to work with the federal government to bring Syrian refugees to Big Sky Country.

Local people in Montana have initiated this, not Obama, and nowhere does is say anything about 10 000 people.
Soft Landing Missoula is working with city and county officials to bring Third World refugees to Montana while the state's Act For America chapter and other activists are trying to stop that from happening. Soft Landing, like most of the non-governmental organizations working with the government to plant refugees into U.S. cities, is working with churches and faith-based groups behind the scenes to create an atmosphere that is more "welcoming" of refugees.
David Lubell of Welcoming America works closely with the White House to soften up the soil in cities targeted to receive an influx Muslim refugees.

Many of the community organizers have received training or consultation from David Lubell's Welcoming America organization, which was started with seed money from billionaire George Soros. Lubell is a close adviser to President Obama's "New Americans" initiative, which seeks to convert millions of refugees and recent immigrants into U.S. citizens with full voting privileges.

Rye signed a letter along with the other commissioners showing support for a group of volunteers in Missoula called Soft Landing, who are working to bring refugees to the area.

If the past record is any indication, the groups seeking to bring Third World refugees to small town America will not be easily chased off by people with signs.
In fact, the pro-refugee Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, put together a field manual in 2013 on how to deal with “pockets of resistance” in the American heartland. One of the strategies in that manual is to research the backgrounds of resistors and identify them as “anti-Muslim” racists.

And Mary Poole with Soft Landing said "based on her work with the IRC, it's not very likely that Missoula will get Syrian refugees"

Interesting point when we're talking about a part of the country with a high native population. You know, the population who is most likely to be raped right now, with nary a Muslim in sight. Native American women are 2.5 times as likely to be raped than other women in the US.

Most convicted rapists (and we know only a small fraction of rapists are convicted) are white men. Where has your outcry been about that? Rape isn't a cute threat to use to mask racism. Men rape, period. Any influx of a population of men is going to result in more rapes. What is happening in Europe is horrible - but it's strange that THAT'S the issue people seem to focus on when 1 in 6 women are raped regardless. Are American men savages with those statistics? Are white American men animals that should be deported and barred from the country?

The Native Americans didn't want the white folks either, did they?

But you don't wanna talk about that, do you?

Rope horse, buck hat or brand a cow? Stop it.
