There are some highly educated, but mostly the party is composed of a jumble of

Hollywood airheads
Welfare ghetto people
Hispanics and illegals whose children will be future dem voters
Felons who vote (studies show they by far vote dem)
New age hippies
Porn industry
Illegal drug industry
If I am to use the same predetermined opinions of people like you did then the republican party must surely be made up entirely of the following:

Science deniers who can't understand simple science
Flat earthers who claim NASA Photoshopped the entire moon landing
Creationists who claim the entire fossil record was planted by a malevolent entity
Redneck trailer trash
Paranoid backwoods hillbillies
Meth heads

Indeed. But this party sounds more fun:

how about highly educated and highly compensated people going left? they exist in all spheres - academic, professionals, and business.

Of course you are right. I went a little overboard.
My point was to pop some of the air out of the arrogant meme that the Democratic Party
is made up of mostly intellectuals and the highly-educated.

More republicans go to and graduate from college. As they get out in the real world, they become more conservative, when they have skin in the game.

More people may be fiscally conservative but when you start throwing in all of these evangelical pseudo Christians is when your argument starts to fall apart. I am more or less fiscally conservative but I'll never vote Republican until you guys can ditch those religious loons that make up a majority of your base.

Is there any actual data to back this up, that more people who vote republican are college grads? many business owners who vote repub. often are not college grads.

it is the reverse - more intellectuals, post-grads, high income people vote democratic. it is the reverse with GOP which attracts small business and self-employed people who are not college grad, not very high income.
