You have to understand something about these older folks. They're more than a little bitter that they were all forced to go into a field that they absolutely abhor to simply try to put food on the table. They don't think ANYONE should go to college for ANYTHING other than doctor or lawyer. That's it. Not even teaching. They think anyone who gets a degree in a field of study that they actually enjoy is a lazy lunatic who doesn't live in the real world. Simply because they never went into the field of study that they wanted to. They now regret it because they've been working their whole lives at some miserable job, hating themselves yet declaring to everyone "By golly, I got here with HARD WORK! I didn't waste my time with thoughts of feel good jobs, I lived in the REAL WORLD where everyone HATES their jobs & lives & they die a miserable death". Sounds real satisfying, hey? Gee, I do envy them.

Hahaha, oh yeah, don't even get me started on that. The gigantic chemistry books that cost like $200 each & then when you try to buy it back, "Here's your $12". Thanks! Smack. That was such a bummer at the end of every semester.

I don't feel entitled to anything. I find it completely ridiculous that the the biggest controversy is that people want college affordable and/or provided as a service AND NOT that college prices are completely outrageous. College is continually out of reach for young people. I hear the same tired argument, "Pull yourself by your bootstraps! I did it!". Yeah, when you did it you could pay easily pay for college off a minimum wage paycheck. I wonder who had it easier? I wonder who really feels the most entitled?

There is something very wrong with a system when the only way to go to college debt free, if you're not rich, is to go risk yourself in a pointless overseas conflict. And this is coming from a Middle East veteran. The system needs to change.

There's a new Bernie Sanders drinking game. Whenever he says free government program, you get to drink someone else's beer.

The cons want people to be uneducated and ignorant; a smart, educated population would be able to see through all their BS and challenge them and all that, and refuse to vote them in. Just look at the education levels in red states, like OK, and MS. Scary stuff. Here in Oz education is more affordable and easier to obtain and their economy has been doing well for years.

Here's one conservative that's for "free college". I'd be on line to register to get another degree.
I actually liked college.

The US dominates the top ten list for the best universities in the world. That's why it's more expensive here.

I could've swore the US had a better GDP too

College costs should go down. They can start by putting an end to majors that aren't marketable.

Mess @ someone claiming that conservatives want people to be uneducated. Democrats literally prey on all the ignorance of anyone who wants to play the victim rather than realize just how much opportunity this country affords them, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE WILLING TO WORK FOR IT. It's scary how so many seriously believe that the 1% is going to stick around for Bernie and Hillary's cruel taxes. 90%? Why would anyone work only to keep 10% of their earnings?
