I'm a Republican. PP provides much needed low cost services to those most in need of birth control and family planning services. The organization works on a shoestring budget and the employees I've met work there because they believe in the mission of Planned Parenthood.
Abortion is legal. Those who want to preclude women from family planning services because they don't approve of abortion are wrong. Period.
Abortion may be legal but Fed funds are forbidden to be used for it.
PP gets plenty of Fed money outside the normal funding. They got over $500 million in grants from the various Fed agencies.
And they get hundreds of millions of dollars because they are "Obamacare navigators".

great, so what's the problem. If cutting funding doesn't affect abortions why are we still arguing about this. Don't our congressmen have greater problems to deal with than a program that helps less well off people, or are they just using this as a distraction towards all the un popular things they want to do.
the GOP goes after PP because they do not support roe v wade. their desire to stop abortion overrides any good PP does. they would rather cut off low income women from health care in general then allow a place that preforms a legal service they don't approve of.
The ACA does not "mandate" the "same thing" that government funds PP.
There are many people who are still uninsured after the ACA. Much of the "government" funding of PP is through Medicaid, and it does not pay for abortions.
There are not enough providers to see the population that PP serves if PP ceases to exist.
Yes it does. After the great lie, any new plan had all that female junk that PP gets funded for. Since I didn't want to pay for any of that I went uninsured, against the law. The fine is cheaper.
Then why do conservatives, such as Northeastah, demand that people believe it really is true that our tax dollars pay for many thousands of abortions every year.
I'm not a conservative or a liberal. I have critical thinking skills. a notion hard for partisans to understand.

Most people here think if you question their opinions (no matter how poorly founded), then you must be a member of the opposing party.
