No.

https://www.wunderground.com/climate/PETM.asp

Mass extinctions occurred in the ocean due to acidification.

But bear in mind, the warming was 10 times slower than what we are experiencing today, so conditions will not be identical. The rapid warming we are currently experiencing is far more hazardous than the gradual warming that occured during the PETM... especially for vegetation.

Kind of ironic that this article points to thermohaline cycles as I referred to them earlier in this thread.lol

I've read better articles about this event but I won't quibble about this particular article. All pieces of information are better than no information, and all can add to the whole picture.

Thanks for sharing.

How come so many rich people keep buying up all that expensive coastal land then? Shouldn't the effects of sea level rise make a dent in the astronomical prices of land at the waters edge?

If there is a mass extinction, and we are all dead, who cares? The planet will still orbit the sun, spinning away in a galaxy larger than our comprehension.

This would all be terrifying if AGW could actually be proven, if the climate hadn't always changed, if we could actually reverse the climate but weren't, if climate alarmists weren't having to doctor the data to scare us and if every single major prediction made by the climate alarmists hadn't been proven false so far. As it stands AGW is nothing more than the 'Emperor's New Clothes'.

You know what they say about the Emperor's New Clothes (or the Emperor wear's no clothes)?

Are there any benefits to global warming and sea rise?
