If you had any doubts about police wearing body cameras, watch this.

Applebee's in, Palestine, Texas

It takes place in a restaurant where the male officer wearing the camera approaches a theft suspect in the restroom of the restaurant and asks him to step outside. The male officer leads the suspect outside while a female officer escorts the suspect from behind. Once outside, the suspect pulls a gun and the male officer does what he is trained to do.

Police involved shooting - you won't see this on the news

This is just what survival shooting instructors in the Army taught almost 50 years ago, you shoot and you keep shooting until you have neutralized the threat. Timed, he gets off 13 shots in five seconds, hand as steady as a rock.

12 of the shots hit the perp. This shows the value of officer worn video cameras. This video shows just how fast it can happen out there. I don't think the female officer ever got a round off. If you don't want to see a perp getting what is coming to him, don't watch. It's a Glock doing what a Glock is designed to do.

He got exactly what he deserved and the officers are very lucky he was slow to pull the gun and even slower to shoot. My question is why they didn't immediately frisk him as soon as they got him outside?

Bet that officer doesn't walk in front of any more suspects. I understand the situation, however it looked like he was a little slow to get off the trigger once the perp was no longer a threat. Looked like several shots were fired after the guy had turned to run and then had fallen to the ground.

As civilians we are taught that we can shoot to stop a threat, but must stop when the threat has stopped. That occurred when the guy turned to run and certainly as he fell to the ground unable to present a threat.

If you or I had that tape presented in court a jury would probably say that about six shots were unwarranted and we would very likely be going to jail for murder.

But of course this never made it to court because the police get a pass.

I think I almost got a boner watching that. I'm a big supporter of body camera's they're talking about using them here for the LAPD, if they haven't already started.

I'm so sick and frigging tired of police abuse or so called abuse when people don't always have all the facts. There are some bad cops out there but I'm sure the majority of cops are trying to do a good and thankless job at times.

EVERYBODY should have body cams. This was a justified shooting but I guarantee you that if a private citizen had reacted the way the officer did, they'd have the DA and police asking them why they had to fire their weapon so many times and couldn't stop when the threat was ended. Double standard? You bet.

Why did the cop only shoot 13 times? He needs to have a larger clip.
