Which country would you rather be a professional in?

A comparison between the economic systems of the U.S and Sweden.

Quote:
A downside to all of this efficiency, the upper middle class in Sweden is poorer than in the US. Sweden does have its fabulously wealthy people too, but doctors, lawyers and engineers live a bit more humbly.

Bernie Sanders wants the US to be more like Sweden. Could it work? | GlobalPost
I prefer what we have in the U.S. I like it better if a doctor or lawyer in the U.S can have the ability to become as wealthy as their skills and talents can make them. This I think is the general appeal of the American system for many people. I do see how the Swedish system could appeal to Americans of a certain mindset. Americans who have "issues" with materialism may be drawn to Sweden's system for example.

I will never understand mainstream cons fascination with Sweden.

Here in L.A. we get a fair share of tourists from Sweden and a good deal of their women are so attractive they can burn a hole thru your retina.

Other then that I never think about the country.

I don't think anyone in Sweden is suing for Millions of Dollars for their coffee being too hot, and winning. The US has the most ridiculous and frivolous lawsuits in the World-which makes it a "great" place to be a lawyer.

I'll give you that.

But the cons like pre-emptive strikes against the Scandinavian nations as illustrated by this thread.

Libs are obsessed with the higher quality of life rankings they have.

It´s not like our doctors and lawyers is poor, but like 2e1m5a, we don´t have a habit of ridiculous lawsuits.

A professional or a lawyer?

Generally America either way, because I don't like the cold and I don't speak Swedish.

Ask yourself how many laws have changed in the past 20 years, lobbied for by law firms, for the sole purpose of benefiting only lawyers?

Just to point out I used "lawyer" in the title to represent professionals in general.

I read a story of an Electrical Engineer who had job offers in the US and Denmark. He took the offer in Denmark. True, higher taxes. But unimaginable (in the US) benefits.
