RIP Nancy ..You deserve to rest now..after so many decades of spectacular service to your Country! I recall so many of her initiatives...with the advent of Aids, Alzheimers, Drug Abuse...But her legacy will always be her life work supporting her "Ronnie"! Bless her gracious heart <hugs>..
I have been watching so many of the old guard coming forth today speaking so well of her..in fact her strength of character and her devotion to Ronnie!! was the most highlighted feature!!
May her family relish the accolades for their mother ( stepmother) and give her a wonderful earthly send off...I happen to be one who believes she is now re-united with her beloved...So sad ( will be missed)..but then again, rejoice that her soul is now free ( after 94 years) to soar!!
Nancy and Ronnie had a marriage few couples ever have. They were completely besotted with one another. I loved to see them together.
I agree. I personally have only seen this twice....my maternal grandparents (together for 69 years and married for 62), and my aunt and uncle (2nd marriage for both -- together for 38 years and married for 35).
Why does "Let them eat cake" come to mind when her name comes up?
