I have a cousin who became a Mexican. He lives in Vera Cruz, comes to Florida once a year to visit his sister. He refuses to speak English, says he could never prove he was an American now. I have not seen him in twenty years and think he is a bit nuts.

Well, when fed-up liberals say they're going to move to Canada/Australia/Europe, at least it makes sense, sociopolitically.

Those countries are rich, with high standards of living, yes. And, they're also peaceful, social democratic countries committed to maintaining safe, civilized, just, equitable societies (can't necessarily say the same thing about Mexico). Canada, for example, is living, breathing proof that liberal policies can, and do, happily exist alongside relatively strong economies, and, as a liberal country, is a logical choice for American liberals. It offers the kind of life that frustrated Americal liberals yearn for.

When disgruntled conservatives say they're going to leave, though, I think, Oh, yeah? So, where ya going? There aren't many countries with right-wing governments that are actually livable. Good luck to ya!

It's downright hilarious when I hear conservatives say they want to move to Canada or Australia to flee the "socialism" of Obama/Clinton/Sanders. Believe it or not, that's not uncommon, either. Heck, you see them in the Canadian, British, or Australian threads here on CD, saying that very thing. They're a riot!

And why on earth would someone let ONE person dictate the rest of their life. I think this expression "I'm leaving..." is so silly.

As for Canada, who in their right mind would want to give up the few freedoms we have left in america to become a subject of the Queen?
Great post-

I didn't know it sucked that bad in Honduras.

Oddly, it appears as though liberals want to import those same elements of danger to the US and create "Honduras/Guatemala/Nicaragua/Mexico" in the US.

I have been to Panama and Costa Rica- they are nearly like the US. In fact, there are Americans everywhere in each country.

Its their agenda, their character, their integrity. When someone is elected into office whether it be Democrat or Republican their values should be aligned with American values. Ive said it before but I wish the two parties would disappear and people would run as individuals. The parties have divided us as a nation. We should be voting for individual, not parties.

Well if your trying to insinuate myself, I am an independent. I vote for candidates, not parties.

Racism. Same as the people who want to move to Germany or Norway. Progressives preach diversity, but always pine for predominantly White countries & cultures.

Crime is rampant in Costa Rica. North Americans live in gated communities with armed guards to protect them. Conceal and carry is common. Most anyone making real money has their own bodyguards, certainly they do for their wives and children. Costa Rica has very little police presence so for the most part, you're on your own. Someone tries to rob you (and they will!), you handle it yourself. For some, that suits them. For others, self reliance is not something they're capable of coming from North America.

The Nicaraguans migrate there illegally to do domestic work, field work and odd jobs. Their kids grow up there and realize they're second class citizens and always will be. Those kids are predominantly delinquents with no future and nothing to lose. They join gangs that commit massive amounts of street crimes, muggings, rapes, burglaries, drug dealing, stabbings, etc.

The Colombian & Mexican cartels use CR as a highway for their drug shipments and are the real heavy hitters. When you read about someone being chopped to bits by machetes & robbed of $9.00 and a cell phone, you know it's Nicaraguans. When you hear about daylight assassinations or machine gun battles, you know it's Colombians. Worse still is living on the West Coast where drug shipments routinely pass through and must be protected by the cartels. Be wary of Colombians living in CR as they're often involved in the drug game.

Shhhhhhhhh. You'll ruin their circle jerk.

Much like the extremely low information folks who think Trump said he could shoot people. They conveniently either didn't hear or are too dumb to understand that he said, "they are saying........I could shoot people........"

Let them go to wherever they wish. We're better off without them.

I agree.

I'm more left-leaning, but if there were a Republican candidate with the political and social ideology of, say, Dwight Eisenhower, I would certainly vote for him/her. But, a moderate, sensible Republican candidate like that hasn't existed in a loooong time.
