Small "c" conservative here. I really dont care for extremes of either side. I couldn't date a religiously conservative woman. The last two women I dated were very Liberal, and Im not, but I started out as a Dem so I could handle it. They apparently had no problem dating me.

It's rather humorous, because sometimes I'll find that I'm actually defending the liberal position on the issue, because the assumptions and reasoning, by the "republican" for why they were opposing the liberals or democrats, was based on false or misunderstood information.

To me, it's more important that people argue their positions from the position of strength, with facts and truths, rather than me just being satisfied that someone is taking up my side of the issue.
LOL, I know, right? I don't really care if you're a Republican or Democrat, so long as you're intellectually honest.

I've found myself in the exact situation you're describing.

You know if the Republican party could just shake it's ties with the radical religious right, I think it would be much more attractive to many more people and be far more inclusive. As a Republican, I really can't stand the party's obsession with religious fanatics. I'm a Republican, and an Atheist who supports gay marriage. Riddle me that. I'm betting there are many more like me, but the loudest voices are the only ones that get heard.

Are these young tech savvy males posting their political view and if so what is it? IMHO if it's Republicans dating Republicans, that is one thing. Perhaps they are libertarian and those views are too what's a libertarian to most.

Makes sense. Everyone knows that liberals are incredibly intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them.

A whopping 82 percent of Democrats — compared to only 43 percent of Republicans — said they wouldn’t dream of keeping their political viewpoints hush-hush while on a date.

Dating site survey: Most Republicans lie about party

Dems are uncouth as they reject the old adage not to talk politics and religion, Emily Post is rolling over.

Repub guys know dems are intolerant and so initially supress talking politics.

Dems are politicocentric as they try to impose their politics on everyone and consider it a fault if someone has an opposing view.

MANY republicans I know are all these things (except many are actual church-goers).
Doctors, lawyers, engineers, professors, accountants, nurses...
The religious right taking over the voice of the party has frustrated many people.

I love the constant hand-wringing about the GOP.

Have you taken a look at who is running the Democrat Party lately?

Like I said, sweetieface, being a republican cannot just be about hating the dem candidates (which we all do).

We have had numerous opportunities to take over everything BECAUSE the dems have had such crappy candidates and ideas...and what did we do instead? Put up even more crappy candidates and stupider ideas.

How can a liberal be "intellectually honest?"
