Are you one of those posters that refuses to participate in other poster's threads, or holds a grudge, simply due to that poster's political affiliation or political responses in threads, that run counter to your beliefs?

If so, I find that to be incredibly childish and petty.

I've never disliked a poster or anyone solely due to their political background, nor do I hold it against them if they dislike a political candidate I might like.

It's like movie celebrities, I don't care about their political background or what kind of political B.S. they spout, I'll still watch their movies if the movie itself is interesting. I may dislike a poster however if they make racist or other ignorant posts.

I'm just tired of the nonstop bickering back and forth even on this forum about the loony liberals, the right wing thugs, so on and so forth. I have responded on various political threads just to counter the double standards and whatnot.

If I can't argue on the internet then that's not the America I want to live in. I agree it gets a bit childish but I see nothing wrong with it, especially on this board which is designed specifically for this purpose.

I don't participate in a lot of them, even though some are in my sphere of knowledge, because, quite honestly, some posters just have so much dumbassery that it's not worth my time.

I have found that some posters political views are not to my liking...but when I see them on other threads minus political hot air, they are pleasant.

Honestly I don't even take notice to posters' names.

I have just discovered and started posting on the Current Events and it's evil twin brother the Politics/Controversies boards where people debate hot, controversial topics. I may never see the light of day again.

You don't know the infinite heights in those yet. Current Events is pretty well moderated so dumbassery is actually minimal. Sometimes cool zombies are there and it goes as you'd expect.

There are a few posters who have well-known racist and ignorant beliefs. I can honestly say that I don't like these people. I am not bothered by others with differing political views.

I will, however, post in whatever topics interest me.

No. Arguments are pointless. No one is going to change their minds. I've been called a liberal, democrat, racist, conservative, republican.

I feel as though there's a handful of posters here who have made it their job to propagate 24/7 on behalf of their candidate. They flood this forum ad nauseum with thread after thread after thread, often duplicating an already-existing thread on the same topic, just so they can spice up the new thread title with yep - you guessed it - more propaganda. It may be well-intended, but the only effect I see is growing hatred and in-fighting and a contest to see who can out-yammer each other here. It's really beyond the pale.

It's easy to see the difference between a passionate American expressing their views and engaging in debate with others on this tumultuous election season, and maniacal keyboard banging candidate shills here to badger, bully, and brainwash others. I've passed the point of trying to communicate at all with those types. They aren't here to listen and learn ... only talk and be heard.
