By historical records, that is terrible during good economic times. Presidents usually have their up's and down's but Trump has consistently been under 50% this whole time.

Donald Trump is the only President in Polling History to be underwater after 2 years in office, and he’s underwater by a mile. Usually, a President is more popular in the first years of his term than later on. The only exception to that among his polled predecessors was Reagan.

Also important to note, he's never had big ups like most Presidents get while in office at some point.

He's been consistently in the low 40's/high 30's basically for two years.

It's one of the least accurate polls, consistently an outlier.

A lot has to do with its method of relying on landlines.

I don't know how you would expect anything else with the media being 93% negative against him. It's a miracle he is as high as he is.

The globalists are not stupid... they know to control the media is to control public opinion... combined with the general dislike of politics in general combined with Trump's behavior, it's not that surprising. People can't get past his personality. I don't have a huge opinion for or against the man.

slight 12 points lower among Republican women vs. Republican men, 72 vs. 84 percent.

Now if we take Republican Caucasian non-immigrant men I think we are looking at over 90% approval
The only reason such a high percentage of republican men tell pollsters they support Trump, is because they know when Trump falls, so will their party. It was hijacked, while they stood by, doing nothing and now Trump is all that is left for them. But it was inevitable, regardless of what they did, as it was gradually losing ground, due to demographic change and Trump provided a desperate death-rally for the party.

Yep. 51% of Americans are female. I'm not sure how many people say they are Republican vs Democrat, but let's assume it's half and half and we're already down to only 25% of voters being Republican men. Trump is particularly disliked by women (even Republican women), who, strangely enough, think he's a misogynist pig. Imagine that.

His poll numbers tell the story of why the majority of Americans did not vote for the con man.
