Biggest loss for Republicans in a midterm... EVER.

A staggering 80 seat swing. Republicans were utterly destroyed in the midterms precisely because of Trump.

Do you understand that this 80 seat swing was in the House of Representatives?

Do you further understand that House seats are proportionally allocated by population based on census data?

Popular vote is not how we elect presidents, we elect presidents based on the electoral college which eliminates large concentrations in big cities. This is essentially how the Senate is elected, with 2 members per State, which maintained the GOP advantage because more States support a conservative or centrist agenda that those who support a liberal agenda and tend to have very large population concentrations.

Trump will not get most of the votes in 2020, but once again that in no way will be a barrier to re-election

Are these newly found 'disapprovers' going to come out and vote for the Liz / Kamala ticket?

After seeing what happened last time they stayed home, I suspect they'd come out and vote for Mickey Mouse and Daffy Duck.

Turnout is likely to be driven not so much by support for whoever the Democrat is, but by OPPOSITION to Trump and the GOP - just like in 2016 but in reverse.

And - based on the enormous Democratic turn out in 2018 - that turnout is likely to be HUGE!!!!!!!!!

ok so NYC and LA are going to vote 95.6% Democrat instead of 95.4%. How does that help you win the flyover states

Have you looked at the 2018 results in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio?
Apparently not.

Mostly agree. But the Dems will still need to run a candidate that is palatable to centrists. I'm prepared to vote for a Dem that is a good bit further to the left than I am in order to get rid of Trump. But too far left and I'll either vote Libertarian like I did in 2016 or I'll sit out the election. At this point I don't think I could vote for either Warren or Harris.
