I knew somebody would find a fly in the ointment. The fact is you guys thought this is it. This is the last straw. This time he went too far. No matter how "low" his numbers were, they went UP, and that just kills you. Once more, it showed he is more in touch with people than all the CNN and MSNBC panelists combined.

he's been up about a point this past week but his RCP average has been bobbing around 43.7% for the last 9months. he's yet to break 50% ( a first for a modern president ).

How can he and why should he?

Trump rallies his base, but he’s not growing it

As at every Trump rally — and frankly the majority of Republican presidential events for the past several decades — the president played on the cultural resentments of his core supporters.

Trump will certainly talk a big game and the choir will lap up his stump speeches and bray along to his insults and grievances. But don’t be fooled: Trump’s road to re-election is a difficult one — and it is precisely the things that his supporters love about him that make it that much harder.

Trump cruising to reelection, and he hasn't even got an opponent to make fun of yet....
7th November 2016 = 43.6
18th September 2018 = 40.2
22nd July 2019 = 44.8

How can that be?? Because Bill Krystal and George Will are decent people. They are every day more shocked that Trump is so truly an awful person. And that so many lemmings are following him into the abyss.

And the Dem candidates have gone rather easy on Trump so far. That will probably all change when the Dems are down to 3-4 candidates running.

Trump’s ratings do tell me that Trump supporters like him even more when he acts like a nasty S*B. He reflects their own hidden tendencies.
