What makes you think that criticism of Trump would alienate them? Here's an interesting article from the woman who predicted the Democratic takeover of the house in which she claims there is no such thing as a swing voter. It's a bit long but a good read

I am still not a Trump supporter, but my opinion on how well he has handled this COVID-19 crisis has increased dramatically over the past two weeks of so.

I agree that many swing voters will swing over to Trump if the COVID-19 death toll does peak within the next two weeks and doesn't surge back up before November. I do think that various governors have as much to do with virus deaths now being projected to be under 100,000 instead of over a million, however.

It is almost 100% the governors leading the fight.

If true, that's all that needs to be said. If, despite your positive opinion of his handling of the situation, you are "still not a supporter", well that may describe a number of people...it will matter when your posts say "I am now a Trump supporter".

Maybe we are talking about a closet supporter, who will not openly claim to support Trump.
I'm pretty vocal about my support in the forum, and I will vote for him, but I do not have a sign in the yard...

Very possibly - which is why I started with "if true".

And yet as you say, you are ardent here due to anonymity. If you are too embarrassed to identify as a supporter even on an anonymous forum perhaps it's time to examine your values.

How has he handled it? He refused to set national rules for managing this crisis and left it up to the states, he sends equipment to states with Governors who are nice to him. He tells the states that he's not a shipping clerk and they can figure out on their own how to acquire the equipment they need. Today he decided that the federal government will no longer pay for testing and is bragging about everyone going back to work at the end of April. The leadership has come from Governors, not Trump.

Dow hasn't shot back up because of the Governors.

Dow is actually moving back up. But up or down the governors have nothing to do with it.
