I have mentioned in other posts how I hate it when leftists outside of the nordic nations keep acting as if government run healthcare is so much better than private options. Well, our own Icelandic healthcare just hit a new low because of budget constraints (you don't need to read the story just watch the video, the images will speak for themselves):

Bílageymslu LSH breytt í bráðadeild | RÚV

Yes, we are actually keeping patients in the garage now because there are no resources to take care of them properly. This isn't really a new development either. Our healthcare has been slowly sinking for some time now because of lack of funds. And before you blame the "evil right-wingers" for this, our last government was left-wing and it cut funding because of cost issues.

But at least I don't live in the evil US where nasty private enterprise prevent people from enjoying good healthcare right?

LOL!

Or my 1 year old grandson who has no insurance because his father makes too much to qualify for Medicaid but too little to buy insurance on the obummer exchange. Great plan here. Dd and Dsil will pay penalties for not having insurance but they can't buy it through the exchange. They're on their own. Our usual system that only takes care of you if you're dirt poor.

DGS was on Medicaid but they dropped him because his father got a $10/hour job. REALLY??? Their only choice is to buy an individual policy and they can't afford that.

Last time I checked this nation was founded on the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It's hard to live without medical care. I don't see why we can't have a public health system and a private health system like we do for schools.

Liberal policies are great until they run out of someone else's money... By then, everyone is too poor to rob and people will be too smart for the same old con... That is until the "free market" becomes a new shiny idea.... And then used as a scapegoat for liberal greed... It's funny that liberal policies always involves someone else's money... Keep asking the democrat candidates how it is funded and their reply is always someone else's money... Funny isn't it...

IMO, we should deregulate healthcare and let the free market work. People can prioritize better providers or take their chances with shade tree surgeons. Sure, you would have more poor outcomes, but you would also see more affordable access.

The government should dis incentivize employer group plans and incentivize health savings accounts, which promotes market forces. Who wants the government controlling markets when they have destroyed housing, healthcare, personal savings and higher Ed?
