I just read the dumbest thing on my computer newsfeed about Trump being a danger because he stated the facts about what might happen if the Republicans ignore the votes given to him in the primary. For 8 years we have been pushed and shoved around by Obama with PC madness and now someone takes up for those that are paying the bills for everybody else and HE is the problem?
Think about all the times Obama jumped the gun in blaming police when all they had done was their job. Many policemen have lost their careers, etc. for doing nothing wrong. It just was not safe for them to be a policeman in those areas after the jerking around they received and the absence of anyone looking out for their backs.
"Demonstrators" have chanted threats, "pigs in a blanket fry like bacon" which created an atmosphere of animosity toward law enforcement that could have been the reason some police are dead now; but countering this hate speech is something to fear. I tell you what they are fearing. They fear having a president that will do his job and put a stop to all the crime that is being ignored by this administration. They fear having someone talk in a sane manner.
I think it is time we got someone to put a stop to the lawlessness running ramped in our country. One wonders if that assignment might give some of the students the idea that maybe they should help white students kill themselves.
If you look at the ratio of whites/blacks/Hispanics in jail, it is easy to see who commits crimes. Many people work very hard in order to be "privileged." Maybe a better discussion would be, "How did white people earn their privilege?" That might give them a clue.
This discussion is a long, long way from where it started.
In the 1960s, and even before that, the assumption was made that main reason blacks underachieved was primarily white racism.
Certainly there was evidence that in many instances physical barriers were in place to prevent blacks from accomplishing all that their drive, determination and good character would merit.
The image of Governor Wallace standing in a schoolhouse door is a permanent fixture in our history and an example, if only symbolic, of real barriers to black achievement that existed in our nation`s past.
Of course those barriers were removed in the 1960s and placed by the state on poor whites in the form of Affirmative Action.
Now, 60 years later, the only thing that has changed is the desperate rationalizations used to support claims that the barriers to success are still prevalent and that black dysfunction is not the product of a culture that rationalizes and even advocates violence, misogyny, illegitimacy, academic underachievement and drug use.
The obvious answer to the question of continued, and seemingly unending, black dysfunction and underachievement is as unspeakable in PC America as the dreaded "n-word".
So now it`s the racist police officer and not the black criminal.
It`s the racist laws and not the black law breaker.
It`s the racist banks and not the black credit criminal.
It`s the bad restaurant/waiter/waitress and not the black tipper.
It`s "driving while black" (DWB) and not the black speeder.
Part of their education should be to take a walk through East St Louis or Baltimore on a Saturday night when it's about 90 and humid out. They should have to make that walk alone or they don't get a diploma.
Another fake outrage thread based on an edited video for propaganda purposes.
Also, to those who never went to college, please understand that the purposes of debates are not so one-dimensional. Sometimes, the conclusions from the debates are not as important as the logical exercises that students go through.
Back when I was president of the debate club in college, one topic that we voted on having was... should we blow up the moon? The only other time that we had the auditorium so packed was when we debated about gay marriage.
But whatever, can't really argue with simpletons who think they could judge a whole debate based on a horribly edited video.
Fake outrage? Somehow I imagine if it was a white student who said something along those lines even if it were 'taken out of content' during a debate they probably wouldn't get such an easy pass from black people as we're suppose to give blacks everytime they say or do something less than PC towards white people. But hey we're not EVER allowed to get angry at black people or even God forbid question them no matter what they do or say because some of our ancestors enslaved them many moons ago. So I guess that gives them a free pass to behave like less than civilized humans for all of eternity. >_>
Also here is some lovely tweets from one of those debaters in the video:
This kind of pap has contributed to the decline in our society - all in the name of free speech.
Sounds dangerous, to me.
Imagine that, people who attend an institute named after a member of the Black Panthers sentenced for murder, hate themselves for being white so much so, that they contemplate killing themselves to make amends for so called white privilege.
-It wasn't Harvard Students
-It wasn't the subject of the debate
-It was one student throwing out a bizarre idea
(and yes I know, RWNJs believe in the 2nd Amendment but not the First)
-The subject of the debate was renewable energy
The OP should correct his thread title so no one else wastes their time like I did!
The president of the University of West Georgia responds:
"...College debate programs operate in a manner similar to laboratories, where events like those depicted in the video are closely controlled and monitored. One team presents a position and the other responds, often using extreme arguments to show that a particular point is illogical.
In the case of the 2012 video, the debate centered on energy policy. The first team argued that white people embracing the location of wind turbines in their neighborhoods would be a way to address criticism that racism is inherent in the movement of white populations from urban areas. The former UWG students countered that argument by claiming that the extreme would not be for white people to locate themselves near wind turbines, but rather for white people to sacrifice themselves to remove racism altogether. The purpose of the statement was to show the absurdity of their opponents’ position.
Unfortunately, the purposefully-edited video posted this week does not capture the complete discussion. It includes less than a minute and a half of a debate that lasted more than an hour and a half. It does not show that the first team injected the element of racism. Ultimately, it focuses solely on the extreme points used by one of the UWG students to counter an argument in a sanctioned debate. When taken out of the context of a competition in which one team commonly uses extreme rhetoric to argue against an opponent’s extreme rhetoric, the scenes from the video are shocking. The fact that the debate was not halted and authorities were not notified shows the controlled environment in which the comments were made. ..."
I think we should all appreciate this response from UWG. Rather than resign like the limp-dicked moron at UMissouri, this man actually did some research and formulated a proper response.

It wasn't the subject of the debate, it was an absurdity to make a point, but its still racist for anyone to say a problem can be solved by genocide. You don't say something like that unless you have some amount of racism in you.
Its not as bad as the video implies, but its still racist. Lets not pretend that if this exact same thing played out and the races were reversed Liberals would have a sensible reaction to it. They thrive on taking anything with a racial element and blowing it out of proportion regardless if there's a shred of truth to their claims. HuffPo, Salon, TYT and DailyKOS would have made this a front-page story, whipped their army into a frenzy, and called for a bunch of protests and firings.
