Between Cruz using this as a political launching pad this morning and this thread, the responses and lack of compassion from Americans for the actual victims of this attack is beyond disheartening.

Why would anyone assume that just because there aren't pages and pages of posts saying 'RIP' and 'Prayers and thoughts for the families', that we haven't stopped and said a prayer? I speak for myself when I say that I did.
Honestly, this isn't facebook or twitter, it's a discussion forum and this kind of thing WILL happen here again. There isn't anything selfish or unsympathetic in expressing that instead of posts expressing sadness for the families.

It's just another fine demonstration of smug, self-congratulatory response from bleeding heart progressives who believe that false platitudes like FB avatar overlays and a couple days of Internet arguments in defense of Muslim people are more valuable and righteous than plain open discussion about what occurred, how it leaves us feeling, and what we think should be done about it. Ted Cruz has said this too, and said this morning that we should absolutely stop Obama's plan to bring thousands of Muslim "refugees" into the USA until we have some way to vet them properly and completely, because ISIS has said they will infiltrate the USA through this program.
