Then moderate Muslims have no issue with criticism or jokes about their religion?

It isn't PC, parrots, it's radical Islam. Learn the freaking difference.

I am sure most are offended but what's the point in criticizing a religion, isn't it counter productive to make fun of the base religion of countries where we are looking to create an alliance and gain support.

Conservatives bomb the Middle East for decades and feed Israel, and then when they want to fight back it's the liberals' fault.

No the peaceful Muslims you refer to are actually bad Muslims. Thank God most Muslims are bad Muslims. ISIS follows the Koran to the letter. So no they have not hijacked Islam they are just simply following all of its principles.

You challenge the problematic ideas of the religion which aren't compatible with the world of today.
As I see it, there are three possible ways for Islam:

a) Custodians of Islam, lets say the main Imams of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkey, declare that armed Jihad, imposition of Sharia, death as punishment for apostasy etc are no longer valid.
Muslims, therefore, are not bound to follow any of it.

b) If a) doesn't happen, countries outlaw parts of Islam that don't comply with the law of the land.
Just as an aside, are you aware that Muslims recently went to court to establish Sharia in Irvine, TX?

c) If a) and b) doesn't happen, well you have now left the door open for someone like Trump to deal with the problem as he sees fit.

You are clutching at straws to defend the indefensible.
Why aren't Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Druids blowing themselves up on a monthly basis?

Can a person walking around wearing full burqa in USA in 95 degree weather be a moderate Muslim?
