Democracy is handicapped. If the people of these countries, and soon in
the US also want to stop the worst from happening, the methods to
do so are not going to be as simple and comfortable as voting in a election.
Peaceful and/or violent resistance to the power structures which control us
is all that remains. Massive civil disobedience and non-participation in government
will shut it down then a new leadership can be installed.
Of course this means "economic collapse" (which we shouldn't be afraid of)
and a period of general unrest.
People must band together with their resources, stop going to work
and stop paying taxes. They must block the roads and physically take
over the legislatures and offices of the oppressing regime.
Nothing else can stop it from getting far worse than most imagine.
We're going "there" anyway.. the only question is will it bring a
totalitarian global police state, or a new era of prosperity and happiness?
