I too vehemently agree about using yoga in school (like grammar school) because it is not just exercise, it is worship to a pagan god. For example, there is one pose called the prayer pose. This definitely is a form of worship disguised as exercise.

Have you ever taken a yoga class?

Anyway, yoga aside, I'm quite pleased to see them using and teaching mindfulness in schools. It's an invaluable skill to develop.

My husband does Yoga, but he's definitely not trying to get laid.

I incorporated yoga into my wellness regimen years ago. That being said...

If yoga arose in the U.S. It would be called stretching.

By that standard they shouldn't study biology-- y'know because one of the bugs is called a praying mantis

Strange, the amount of complaints these days.

Teaching children mindfullness: reduces stress, relaxation, connectedness, acceptance and how any parent would be against that -----is troubling.

Someone asked if children experience stress, absolutely. You never know what their home life is like or if their bullied.....

That teacher deserved praise by the parents, instead of complaints.

Let's face it, yoga is pretty damn stupid. It ain't exercise. What happened to jumping jacks? Kids too fat to jump?

What kind of stress do elementary kids face? This whole thing is stupid on its face.
It ain't exercise? LOL. Jumping jacks are easy peasy compared to holding certain poses. My husband felt the same way you do when he visited his first yoga class. A retired Marine, by the way. He was very surprised.
