Far right wing organizers intended to descend on Brussles Square to protest all things Islam. Local LE appealed to them to not do so because they preferred to focus on investigations related to the recent bombing instead of managing mobs of angry people. The organizers ignored LE and about 500 gathered with anti- Islamic signage and rhetoric which drew crowds of watchers.
Brussels LE quickly responded with water cannons and used water to push back and disburse mobs of protesters and those who came to observe.
