Although I will agree with your statements about immigrants in the old days - this is not the old days! Back then immigrants were happy to assimilate unto American society. My husband's family came from Poland. When the grandchildren wanted to learn Polish - they were told NO - you are an American - we speak English.
There were not the social programs supporting them - they had to find work to live and worked hard to prove to the "Americans" they belonged.
There was little threat of terrorism then - we were the ones everyone wanted to be.
The citizens of their countries need to stand up for themselves and help fight ISIS and take back their cities but it's much easier to go to another country as a "refugee" and live off of their citizens.
I'm sure that many of the people and families of the people that have died due to terrorists had the same altruistic outlook as you do - I wonder how they feel now?

Well, I can speak from experience when I say immigrants in the 21st century are a lot like immigrants in the 19th century. I spoke with many Iraqis and Afghans who desperately wanted American citizenship. They wanted to escape the hellish conditions of their homeland and go somewhere where they could work hard and get ahead. My Afghan interpreter had saved up over $100,000 for a down payment for a house and dreamed of being able to bring his brothers and parents to America. He was a hard worker. I have no reason to doubt he'd quit being one once he immigrated.
My brother in law spoke poor English when he immigrated from Morocco at the age of 25. Now he speaks good English, is married to an American, attends a church and is a supervisor at a factory. He was picked for a supervisory role because he's a hard worker.
Little threat of terrorism? Think again. Terrorism was invented by left wing revolutionaries. Nativists in America wanted Europeans to stay out so that this would not spread to our soil. Remember Sacco and Vanzetti? Some did, but for the most part, the very same anarchists and radical socialists became moderates when they finally lived in a place where someone can work hard and get ahead.
Like Obama, I have faith in this country. Maybe because like him I have lived abroad and have seen the rest of the world. People who come here appreciate what they have. They don't want to mess it up. We have the land, we have the know-how, we can grow the economy. We need to let them come.
That Obama, pure genius, invite in more people that hate your culture and want to blow you up. ??????

So the media created label of great orator does not include a hint of being, at least, a moderately good communicator.
The great orator is unable, and actually, is not motivated, to use his magical powers of communication to persude anyone. He just does what he wants everyone else be dammed. He treats the American people as he does the republican legislators. Obama has been coronated "King" by the media as the media fails to take hi to task on this latest declaration to his kingdom.
What you don't understand is that Obama's insane PC policies block us from properly vetting these refugees. Any type of questions about radical religion is off limits.
What you don't understand is that Obama is factually playing with fire as ISIS is trying to infiltrate these refugees, several refugees in the US have been arrested on terrorism charges, and refugees all over the west have committed heinous acts.
These are not "Obamas Policies", these have always been in place and they have worked. The problem is a few politicians playing on fear during an election year.

How do you protect us from this: Children of ISIS | FRONTLINE | PBS? Should we just tango our way through the bombs? Perhaps we should give speeches about how it makes no difference if we are communist or capitalist? You cannot vet immigrants if you cannot ask the hard questions or you have no background information. Obama really doesn't give a rat's butt about America; he is a short timer and he will be taken care of for the rest of his life.
Anti-American is stating we are bringing in 100,000 regardless of whether we can check their background properly. You tell me what the people living in Brussels feel about what their government did to protect them? Many, in Europe and the US, are rethinking this whole open-borders push - that is why Trump is so popular. While you might hate Trump and what he stands for; do you like playing Russian roulette with only one chamber free? What will happen if we have one major ISIS attack on American soil before November? It will not be a cake walk for the Democrats!
Refugees are screened thoroughly... Many xenophobes don't understand this.
The FBI, the CIA, and Homelamd security have all come out repeatedly saying they CAN'T vet these people. What part of that do you NOT understand???

I can only see 2 possible explanations: 1) POTUS is on the side of our enemy, or 2) he want to be know as the Neville Chamberlain of our time. I'm going with #1.

Those who are fleeing Syria don't want to live under ISIS. They want to live free in a land of opportunity. I think we should welcome them to our soil. 100,000 is way too few, but I understand Obama has to contend with idiots so he can't propose we bring 2-5 million, which would be much more reasonable.
