Considering that the very first step they took into the country was illegal, I'm not sure they are too worried.

Go try to register to vote and tell them you are illegal, tell me how that goes for you.

Well, I certainly don't think the answer is to keep minimum wage the same and supplement it with 152 billion a year in welfare, SNAP, subsidized housing and EITC. In my opinion if you can't make a profit while paying a decent wage you don't deserve to be in business and I resent my tax money being spent to enable a business owner to pay employees the same minimum wage that has been in effect for the past 6 years even though that money has lost at least 8.1% of it's spending power. In 1968 the federal minimum wage was $1.60 per hour, which translates to approximately $10.90 in 2014 dollars. Sort of makes me wonder how employers managed to get by in 1968, but they claim they can't now.

There are none. There was a reason that business was boarded up. The next owner will face the same problems. Bu I am tired of speculations. It's like elections and polls. Let the voting begin and see what happens in the real world. Of course, the problem with all social programs is that their failure is never acknowledged. They just go on. You can never pin down job losses or lack of growth on $15/hr wages.

Do I read the framework of a deal here? Cut $152 billion a year in benefits from the Federal budget in exchange for raising the min wage to $15/hr. Why didn't I think of that? Thank you, I'll take it.

Here in Pennsylvania, you can register to vote by filling out a one page application. No documentations required of ANY kind. An illegal most certainly can register to vote. No one will be knocking at his door, believe me.

I'm glad one state stepped forward and chose to be the experiment. If this goes well, we could finally see a reversal of the 40-year long declines in the standard of living for working Americans.

California lawmakers agree to a $15 minimum wage
Good to see somebody stepping up and being the guinea pig. Trouble is, it's going to take several years before we're going to have truly meaningful data. So we'll just kick back and wait I guess.

Well if they aren't checking, why don't you mail me a bunch of those voter registration forms so I can register and vote a bunch in Pennsylvania. You know, cause they don't check, so you say.

in most states you can vote by provisional ballot that may or may not get counted depending on the mood of the vote counters

You apparently have no idea about how to register to vote in states that don't have voter ID laws.
