Not who you were talking to, but I think you have a legitimate point here. People should show some sympathy and not mock the victim.
However, I do think a lot of liberals lack sympathy towards reality to promote PC BS and that makes the problem worse. How often do we hear that there are no such things as "no go zones?" That it is all a right wing lie. Yet 60 minutes in Australia gets attacked twice as Muslim zones in Sweden like to attack outsiders, ambulances need police escorts, fire trucks need police escorts or else "youth" throw stones at the firemen, etc....The German government has been accused of covering up multiple rapes by Muslim immigrants. Etc...

i think there is some sad irony in the fact that she most likely would have been one of the open border type people, the NOTHING TO FEAR crowd, and she has lost her life.
i wouldn't call her stupid, but i would say that she is misguided, and resentment comes from knowing that other people might have to suffer the same fate in the future because people like her do not understand the risks involved to other people's safety.
i do have empathy for her family and their suffering, but you could also say shame on liberals for putting people in this situation, couldn't you? those of us who are against open borders want to protect EVERYONE, even innocent muslims that have escaped the tribalism of the middle east.
