Actually we could have guessed. If this was any White supremacist his name and pictures would have been immediately all over main stream media. If the shooter turned out to be a Trump supporter (even if Trump never met him) this story and his picture would have been the major story in the Chinese news. Our media has an agenda and covering up of stories, that go against that agenda, is one of their primary goals.
Dang, two black males with guns shooting in public in one week. Wait, I only thought white males did stuff like this? Wait a minute, can it be confirmed that these "blacks" were actually half white, identified with their white side and white supremacy, and were raging sexists because they couldn't get blonde girlfriends, so they shot at other men???

I am curious about prior charges vs convictions. Prisons everywhere are full of inmates convicted of non- violent crimes and this guy served his time and was out and about. Parole?
He admired those who went out in a blaze of gun fire, a time bomb.
What was he doing in Virginia? Relatives?
Why did grandma throw him out?
Where did he acquire the weapon?

Seems to be human nature to " feel" horrible senseless crime moreso when it happens locally than somewhere else.
People will be free to do as they please when they want no matter how bad it may be....
The only way you "prevent" it from happening? You can only prevent an individual once caught, from doing it again.
There are 2 choices:
Incarceration for life, when caught the first time.
Or Death.
