This is how Republican Governors are planning to win elections for their party, as they know the numbers are against them. Factor in youthful voters who are adamantly opposed to rich old white guys telling them what to believe in, or what women can do with their uterus, and you can see the demographics are shifting.
It's not as easy for the poor, especially those who don't drive, to get a photo I.D. if the deck is stacked against them. For many who live in poverty, they are losing the right vote
Is this real life? Who in their right mind would be OK with people casting votes without valid state ID. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.
How is this even a partisan issue? Are people really OK with the amount of voter fraud that comes with not requiring a valid state ID to vote? Why even have elections if that's going to be the case? Furthermore, if you're too poor, irrespinsible or downright too stupid to to have a valid state ID, you have a lot more things to worry about than voting.
Just saw a interview with the Wisc. LT Governor and she said she has not heard of one complaint about the Id issue all day. Just a tad under the 300k the op was worried about.

Redistricting is another matter, and is something that is utilized by both political parties when they are in a position to do so, and I agree it's nefarious. For the record, last year I voted FOR an amendment to my state's Constitution to take the district map out of the legislature's hands and give it to a bipartisan board. It passed with flying colors. .
No, in this supreme court case Texas was circumventing one person- one vote, quite different than normal redistricting around party lines.

I don't see how you can dismiss the fact that this law is focused on people living on the edge that may not have either the means or the time to acquire an ID, very few will even argue that fact.
Most people that are middle/upper class already have licenses or the means to easily acquire such so who do you think this law is aimed towards.

Still waiting on someone to prove there there is voter fraud.
Further more, people in every state vote without valid ID when they mail in ballots.
The only chance republicans have anymore is to manipulate the elections.
