As a man I don't care if there's a woman in the bathroom but I think that for women its a very different matter. No matter how femaled up you are, if you have a penis, you should not be in the ladies locker room or rest room.
Considering that I can't recall the last time I encountered a TG/TS person (or recognized that the person was TG/TS), this is a trivial issue. I have a better chance of seeing a unicorn. Besides, the activities conducted in the restroom are similar whether you're male or female and the outcome is the same.
And if someone is worried about a TG/TS person doing something criminal against a woman in the restroom, well, newsflash, a law and a sign on the door restricting women's restrooms to "natural" women only isn't going to stop them. It doesn't stop a heterosexual man intent on committing a crime against a woman. After all, criminals don't follow laws.
So in your view a man dressed in normal male clothing should be allowed to walk into a woman's bathroom because he might be a transgender who doesn't want to take hormones etc?
How you enforce it is if a woman sees a man/woman standing up peeing facing the toilet, she can report to security or police that there is a man in the woman's bathroom.
1 How is a woman going to see anyone standing up facing the toilet peeing when there are doors on the stalls?
2. Even bio women face the toilet to flush, and sometimes while straightening clothing fastening belts, etc.
So women and girls who are concerned with indecent exposure, sexual harassment, or assault are just hysterical and have been brainwashed to see bogeymen where none exists. But transgenders who tells us they risk their life everytime they use the men's room...we take them at their word and enact laws accordingly???
Well seeing that it isn't transgender people who wish to rape and sexually harass women, I do think this hysterical fear you have for transgender is uncalled for. Transgender girls are not going to harm you.
Transgendered means transsexual; they're the same thing. The first is simply the latest PC term.
And it doesn't exist. Chromosomes at the cellular level would need to be "transgendered."
People can call themselves anything they want, but they can't invade a multi-outlet restroom of individuals not of their own chromosomal make-up without the public censure of a polite civilization. Some people seem confused about that.
This is a silly argument. All human fetuses start development as female. For one reason or another in a small segment of the population the changes that trigger male gonads to form don't happen and the fetus goes on to develop as a female. It's typically not discovered until puberty. So there are people out there who are outwardly female and have lived their whole lives as women but are XY. Should those people now be forced to use the men's restroom because of their chromosomal makeup?
Like the other thread on this topic, people are defending the few transgendered men who will use women's bathrooms and ignoring the many perverted heterosexual men who are going to abuse this "right".
They should get rid of Men and Women's Rooms and have Penis and Vagina Rooms.
The law has been on the books in many places already for years and that hasn't happened.
Men just don't need to go to that amount of trouble.
State Law Has Prohibited Discrimination In Public Accommodations Since 2007. In 2007, the Iowa Civil Rights Act was expanded to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in public accommodations. [Iowa Civil Rights Commission, accessed 3/14/14]
Des Moines Police Department: "We Have Not Seen That." In an interview with Media Matters, Des Moines Police Department spokesman Jason Halifax stated that he hadn't seen cases of sexual assault related to the state's non-discrimination ordinance:
"We have not seen that. I doubt that's gonna encourage the behavior. If the behavior's there, [sexual predators are] gonna behave as they're gonna behave no matter what the laws are. "[Phone interview, 3/13/14]
100+ students of each gender per P.E. class. At least one semester of swimming required. Explain how students change into and out of swimsuits without removing all their clothing.
Both the trans student and the USDoE OCR rejected the individual restroom/locker/changing/shower room facilities the district had provided for the trans student out of concern for everyone involved, and INSISTED that the trans student with a penis have unrestricted use of the girls' multiple occupancy open locker/shower rooms.
You sure are getting a lot of mileage out of that link. What is this, the sixth time you've posted it in various threads?
I don't think men should be allowed in Women's bathrooms as the doors don't close for 100% and you can peek into many of the stalls. Also it will be weird for women standing in front of the mirror and a man staring at them while they are fixing their make up, etc.
If it was a real transgender it would be different but who can determine who is a real transgender and who is the creep who is getting sexual excited from staring at women in the bathroom and what about stalking types of people. Sometimes women will kind of get into a bathroom to get away from a person and wait till they can come out..maybe not happening a lot of still it can occur.
Why is all of a sudden this such a subject. Aren't there often the family restrooms that someone can use if they can't choose.
Also the hypocrites of the famous people coming out to boycott certain states due to the bathroom issue but they are performing in countries that don't even recognize gay people!
I will boycott any song on the radio of these hypocrites!
