There are liberal cities in Mississippi too, that doesn't make MS a liberal leaning state.
Utah, on the whole, is very conservative, but Salt Lake City really isn't. Even so, I just don't see Utah, in general, as being much like the Deep South.
Just because they're structured to not earn a profit doesn't mean they're not businesses. They have management and employee tiers, they have business expenses that are deducted to offset income. They even have to file their taxes every year.
only thing the ms bill does, is keeps the state from firing or attaching anyone that refuse service as a vendor of same sex marriage, it protect the vendor from the state. the victim can still sue as a civil case but has to pay for everthing
Now new york and vermont laws are way tougher, they claim the discrimnates cannot sue
I guess you missed the section about adoption, foster agencies, and doctors can deny service too. How many foster or adoption agencies are wedding vendors? How about fertility doctors, and gender reassignment doctors?

In fact the state now can not remove state funding from either of those agencies that would refuse me service, even though MY taxes are given to them.

The motivations of values voters. Their conservatism, especially on social issues, is fueled by their religious beliefs. For example evangelical voters that would ordinarily be more economically lives (in the American sense of the word) but vote Republican because they claim to reflect their religious beliefs.
As for the get the picture, it seemed the tax issue went over your head. You singled in on protest concert, giving to LGBT funds rather than fighting the immediate power. I agree, more people NEED to stay engaged in the conversation about the issue all around after the talk dies down for a specific case.
When someone repeatedly writes "went over your head" it's obvious that person's goal is to make others look stupid instead of providing a good rebuttal.
I abhor any type of bigotry, as I've written many times. However, it still doesn't explain why anti-gay laws exist in other states and the same people are "generating revenue" in them. Bryan Adams hasn't canceled a concert on Saturday in Tennessee where an [URL="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/tennessee-lgbt-counseling_us_570c4c4de4b0836057a23d63"]anti-LGBT law[/URL] was just passed. Could it be that he sold more tickets in Nashville?
PayPal announced that it won't open an office in Charlotte, a city with a majority Democratic legislature and a Democratic mayor, because of a bill recently signed by the Rep Gov of NC. So punish people in Charlotte who need jobs and keep your offices in Dubai and Moscow open. Sure, that makes a lot of sense. PayPal also generates a lot of business in countries like China where basic human rights are violated, and in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia where they murder gay people. Yet your only answer is that the "tax issue" went over my head. Guess the hypocrisy went over yours.
