FWIW - As Mexico gets closer to a modern productive economy they will be facing an "Alien Immigrant" problem from other Hispanic countries as those people move to Mexico for jobs that do not involve working for the Drug Lords.

Several of the more intensely developed industrial countries have found a way to continuously prosper without exponential or even any population growth. They allow the population to drop through attrition and below replacement birth rates and allow the robots to do most of the industrial work while taking care of themselves medically and socially. They have disconnected prosperity from endless population growth. The rest of the world will have to realize they must do this as well.

You're way off base. The point is that they are here illegally and sending much of their earnings out of our country which isn't being spent in our economy while they dip into our taxes to compensate their wages to survive and their other related social costs. It has nothing to do with family values or that some people spend their money on drink, drugs and casinos which by the way does at least in part support our economy.

Other than that I do agree that population growth must be curbed because jobs and resources will become more and more scarce in the future.

There is also a big remittance outflow to China, India, and The Philippines. This is mainly by legal residents and temporary workers (H1B, B1...). I believe Trump wants to tax or seize remittances by illegals to any foreign country.

Some have referred to Western Union's $3000+ international bank-to-bank transfers (requiring account setup) as proof that Trumps' plan is possible - but this is just one payment option and does not apply to cash WU/supermarket counter transactions.

How much money can I send with Western Union?
AT AGENT LOCATION: There's usually no restriction on the amount of money you may send at an agent location. However, some countries set limits on how much can be received.

Doesn't even take subterfuge. Up goes an online bank in the Caymans, and that money transfer? Mexico? Nope, goes to my account in the Caymans. I like having my savings there, see? What happens after that, well - you'll have to subpoena the authorities in Cayman for that. And Trump has no interest in messing with off-shore banking, because that will end badly. Bullies pick weak victims.

How do you determine that money being transferred by an illegal immigrant, don't you think they will find a way around.

Should Mexico reciprocate and tax the money from US residents working in Mexico in various manufacturing jobs.

Under what law can Trump confiscate the assets of illegals?

Nobody does "wire transfers" anymore. Telegraph days have been over for some time. Nowadays, people transfer money online.

And no, Mexico doesn't really need us at this point--their birthrate is down to first-world levels (2.2 per household), and they have an average life expectancy of 77. Like the US, Asia, and Europe, they're going to be experiencing a shortage of working-age adults very soon.
What does birth rate have anything to do with it? If you owed someone $50B every year, who needs who? They need you?

It's Trump - you expect some sort of legal reasoning?

I prefer a 100% tax.
