Perhaps you are confusing obamacare legislation that was passed only by democrats. the invasion of Iraq was bipartisan and Hillary of course was in on it. You remember Hillary, she was so qualified to be sec of state and with hat insight, approved the invasion.

So, please, send out more thank you notes to the other side of the aisle.

And thanks to all the dems who voted for it and the DEM Senate Majority Leader who could have KILLED the bill but, instead CO-SPONSORED it.

WITHOUT them, it NEVER wold have happened.

But, we know, you will ignore the truth.

I think your idea was tried a couple of times and we got WWI and WWII.

And what happens as they spread across the world like Nazi Germany was doing?

At what point do we "Enough is enough?

Intersting thatthe Iraqis cut and run.

During Viet Nam war, there were several articles about how fierce looking the south vietnamese troops looked but how unfamiliar and incompetent they were as soldiers.

Of course you can substitute the same reports from VN about the army dropping weapons and fleeing, just exchange the word south VN for Iraq.

one article viet nam, a lesson for gun bigots

Democrats voted to go into Iraq, also. It was not an executive order.

Pass the blame? Or hold accountable?

HOGWASH!

There was NEVER a vote to go/not go into Iraq, only a vote on funding.

One man made the go decision and owns it.

And yes, he should be held accountable!

The president controls troop movements and he could have stopped us from going into Iraq. (As well as any place in the Middle East.)
Although Congress did authorize it.

Exactly, Congress authorized funding it but did not mandate we go.

Personally, I believe we need to reconsider the way these things happen. I'd like to see a Constitutional Amendment that limits how long a POTUS/CinC can deploy combat troops without a formal declaration of war, I'd say somewhere in the 3-6 month range, long enough to cool down a hot spot. After that I believe the troops should either be withdrawn by law or a formal declaration of war be issued by Congress. Let those who believe a war is necessary vote on it, sign their names to it, and be held accountable for it.
