Pizza shop worker loves Seattle’s new $15 minimum wage, until he finds out that it cost him his job
You'll have to excuse me while I laugh. And laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

Idiots. When will they ever listen?

I know, it is so funny, businesses should be allowed to pay their workers as little as they want to turn a profit.

For larger corps it's sad they won't give up a tiny part of the profits so others can fare better. It will balance out.

What's funny is your overly dramatic responses. If the pay isn't enough for you, GET A 2ND JOB, snowflake.

Great lesson to learn while still young.

Those people are free to leave if they aren't happy with the pay. If he cannot fill the position, the owner will be forced to raise the pay. He is only to pay low because people are willing to accept it.

Not necessarily. The management and owners will have to pick up the slack but the number of jobs at the bottom will be cut

Or... You could demand better pay until the city caves in.

Seattle area created 58.6k jobs year over year or 3.2% growth, way above the U.S. average. Seattle is doing fine.

By comparison, Houston only created 9k jobs year over year or .3%.

When I delivered pizzas I had a manager who was obsessed with cutting costs so that he could make more money - he was paid a base salary plus percentage of store profits - so he could buy a franchise and own his own store.

Since I has the best driver he had, he sent his other drivers home by 9pm on weeknights and kept me until end of shift as his only driver. With only one driver instead of two, this increased average delivery times. The area supervisor came in one day and fired the manager. And the store was back to keeping at least two drivers on each shift.
Ummmmm not all jobs are pizza shops.
