The particular point of this lawsuit is the advertising. Not explicitly that it was "deceptive," but that it pushed the AR-15 as a "military-grade" weapon (a term that has yet to be defined).
So, basically what you are saying is, is that when the lawyers figure out how they can corner the gun manufacture, that is what the "defined term" will be.....
As a Connecticut resident, I disapprove. The states opinion on guns as turned to anti-gun. So many people are afraid of guns here. All in all though, the manufacturer is not responsible for what the consumer does with the product. Those guns were LEGALLY owned anyway. Why don't we focus on that a majority of gun owners are being punished by something they didn't do. CT has passed the strictest gun laws in the nation. Our governor has tried gun confiscation which didn't work. I'm sick that society is run in a way that if one person does something bad then EVERYONE else has to suffer even if they had nothing to do with it.
It's not cool that a beautiful state like Connecticut is run by idiots.
I still cannot get my head around this law suit, a manufacture made and sold a legal product to a distributer, that distributer sold the product to a dealer, that dealer then legally sold this rifle to a customer; then someone else committed an illegal act with this product. How is it the responsibility of the manufacture?

That was not decided yet. This is allowing a day in court, just like all manufacturers face. This ruling means execs will face depositions and internal documents of the defendents must be turned over to the plantiffs for examination. Just like Big Tobacco faced.

This case should not even be allowed to proceed, How are you able to determine blame, on a company that had nothing to do with the problem in the first place.

No, this is lawyers pulling the handle on the slot machine some people refer to the justice system. These types of lawsuits cost us all money because ultimately it's included in the cost of the product. This BS needs to stop, my Mother received a check in the mail for 2 cents the other day because of class action lawsuit.
The manufactures are being sued because they are the only entities with deep enough pockets to make the lawyers even more wealthy. Even if the families of the victims of the deranges shooter receive any money, how is this compensation for the loss of a child?
This is a choice example of blaming the object for the damages done by the user. There would be no point in suing him as he is dead and did not leave a substantial estate, if any.
It really baffles me when someone who claims themselves to be liberal which also in turn, assumes they are intelligent and then proceeds to supports something like this. Can any liberal refute this?
