It was a Prince song that Tipper heard that started her crusade, but seriously, that is only because her daughter happened to like Prince. It could have been ANY band who's lyrics she didn't like. If her daughter was into metal, it would have been a metal band that started it. And as you said, metal bands received the lion's share of her wrath, not Prince.

Actually, Tipper Gore's purchase of Prince's Purple Rain was the catalyst for the whole PMRC and Warning Labels thing.
