"You've explicitly stated you do not consider diversity when hiring for leadership positions and board members," the question, relayed by reporter Andrew Ross Sorkin, stated. "Does that need to change, and are we missing any investment opportunities as a result?"
Buffett's answer began pretty directly: "No."
Then he explained why Berkshire doesn't prioritize diversity: "We will select boardmembers—and we lay it out and have done so for years, and I think we've been much more explicit than most companies—we are looking for people who are business-savy, shareholder-oriented, and have a special interest in Berkshire. And we've found people like that. And as a result, I think we've got the best board that we could have."
He just earned some of my respect back after the whole salary tax thing.
It seems like 'the system' could be racist or greedy - maybe not both. So which is it libs? Is the system so racist that they won't employ the best people possible, thus sacrificing their earnings? Doesn't sound too greedy to me.
Mr Buffett places the interests of his shareholders above those of liberal wannabe social engineers and racist organizations like BLM. Mr Buffet is a wise and business savvy man, which is why people still pay attention to him.

He isn't liberal or conservative when it comes to his business, he picks the best people. Compare that to some of these companies that put CEO compensation first and shareholders second.
By the way his views on taxes and other issues have been criticized as liberal, he is a fair and brilliant investor.
Most CEO's believe the same thing, Warren Buffett is just the only one with the balls to say it.
Any one company could have issues with diversity and still not be biased, but if you analyze all major companies you have to believe that only white males are capable. I don't have an issue with selecting the best person for a position it they are truly the most deserving but when the boards and CEO's across the spectrum of companies are not even closely representative of the population what is your conclusion.
Do you think they are picking the best person for these jobs solely on ability.

... that there is at least the possibility they are selecting the best people for the positions. If boards and CEOs are closely representative of the population then we know, beyond any doubt, that they are being selected based on race, sex, ethnicity, etc..
